AeroPress

Steeping and pressure in two minutes

The AeroPress combines steeping and pressure: you pour water over the coffee, wait, then press the brew through a paper filter. It hardly depends on pouring technique, travels well, and the recipe adapts easily to any coffee.

What you need

  • AeroPress and a paper filter
  • Kettle
  • Scale
  • Grinder
  • A sturdy mug

What ends up in the cup

A dense, sweet cup that keeps its acidity. Storm, Drizzle and Fog are good choices.

If something goes wrong

The plunger is very hard to push
The grind is too fine: go coarser and press slowly, over 20–30 seconds.
Water drips through before you press
Brew inverted, or put the plunger in right after pouring.
